Icelandic playwright and crime fiction writer, hitting bestseller lists worldwide with her Reykjavik Noir series.

Biography

Lilja Sigurðardóttir was born in 1972 in the small town of Akranes north of Reykjavik, but she grew up in Mexico, Sweden, Spain and Iceland.  She has a background in education and has worked in evaluation and quality control for preschools, before she started her writing career in 2008. She soon became a critically acclaimed playwright, but has also written six thrillers that mostly take place in Reykjavik.
In 2015 she published the first part in a new series called The Reykjavik Noir Trilogy, which became an instant success. She lives in Reykjavik with her partner.
